With so many changes going on in a woman’s body during pregnancy, many are tempted to ignore new discomforts, thinking these “odd feelings” are normal during pregnancy. DON’T DO THAT! Abnormal Pregnancy Conditions that develop during pregnancy are often related to the pregnancy itself (early pregnancy loss or ectopic and molar pregnancies) but not always. Sometimes issues can be caused by events unrelated to the pregnancy, like if a mother develops a disease such as measles.
As we said earlier, certain abnormal pregnancy conditions have symptoms that can signal serious problems are afoot. For example, severe itching can be signs of a liver problem called “intrahepatic cholestasis.” Bad headaches, blurred visions, and/or right side abdominal pain can signal severe preeclampsia. So please play it safe and avoid being sorry by talking to your doctor about any unusual changes you are experiencing.
