Women have two fallopian tubes that extend from either side of the uterus and reach towards the ovaries with tiny fringe-like fimbriae. The mature egg may be fertilized by a sperm on its way to the uterus.
In a normal pregnancy, the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. However, in an ectopic pregnancy, the egg implants in the fallopian tube. This is a life-threatening condition for the mother and must be treated right away.
If you are suffering from a fallopian tube condition, or have any questions about them, please talk to your doctor.
