I thought the wait to see the doctor was too long. I had a UTI and had brought in my own urine because I wasn’t sure I could leave a sample with you and that seemed to be a problem with your office although they took it after me, talking them into it. The doctor is always knowledgeable. It took too many days to get the results back from my UTI with me calling every day. The office line is constantly busy and I was put on hold numerous times and then told when the results come in, they will contact me. And I personally think the charges are expensive. I am on Medicare and have a supplemental policy and she will not take any insurance. But I do trust the doctor completely and I know that she’s very brilliant. That’s my report honestly.

The staff is amazing in the room. My only criticism is with receiving a superbill. Upon checkout I asked for one and was told it would be 10-14 days. When 12 days passed I called to check on the super bill. I was told it was not requested and would be another 10-14 days. It is now past 14 days and I received this questionnaire and still no superbill.
This has happened before. There is a disconnect for some reason between requesting and receiving a superbill. It’s disconcerting and frustrating because I cannot recoup the very large doctor bill until I receive this paperwork.

My wife absolutely loves Dr. A. and overall she has had a very positive experience with the practice.
However, I want to share feedback about a recent visit when I came in for a blood draw. When the PA was preparing to draw my blood, she told me there was no phlebotomist available and that she had not drawn blood in months. Hearing that right before the procedure did not inspire confidence. Kind of a weird thing to say before you are going to stick someone with the needle??
She attempted to draw blood from one arm but was unable to get the vein. After several minutes she then had to try again in my other arm.
This was surprising and not the experience I expected. The office scheduled the appointment and told me when to come in, so I assumed someone experienced with blood draws would be available. If there was no phlebotomist working, the appointment should have been scheduled for a time when one was available or communicated ahead of time. Or the Dr. should have done it.
Considering the cost of care at the practice, this experience left me with an uncomfortable impression, which I felt was important to share.

I absolutely love Dr. Aliabadi and the office staff - truly everyone that works at her office is wonderful. I will say, however, I did feel rushed with my time with Dr. Aliabadi in the exam room. It felt like she could only spend a max of 5 minutes with me (if that). That is disappointing, especially when you’re paying a premium and out-of-pocket to visit with her. I just wish she would not make her patients feel rushed and dedicate a little more time connecting with me. Speaking for myself and for the other women man aging similar challenges, it is very common to feel rushed, dismissed, and invalidated by providers. I think just awareness of this and spending just a little more time with her patients would be greatly appreciated. I also feel like after-visit instructions can be very overwhelming - it’s so much info to retain with really nothing written down. Lastly, my lab results took 2 weeks to get back and took me calling the office to ask - I get it happens, but again, when you pay a premium for these services, it is more so disappointing.

Dr. Aliabadi is an exceptional doctor. The only thing keeping my scoring down at all is how busy the office is in general. Whether in person or via messaging, there can be a lag in clinical information. I am simply waiting for a reply or because the exchange requires Dr. Aliabadi’s input which can cause a delay for a couple of days. I don’t know what the solution would be and recognize that Dr.Aliabadi has a huge staff and is trying to mitigate any of these delays, but I suspect the demand is just so high.

Great. My only problem was with the paperwork leading up to the visit -- I received requests for paperwork from three different sources: email, Klara, and, much later, the Athena Health portal. Dr. A came highly recommended from my sister who is a current patient. Leading up to my first appointment everyone on the team was very communicative and helpful in preparing me for my first visit (Haven especially). The day of my first visit, I waited 90 minutes before being seen. I understand that things run behind schedule, but this felt excessive for a first visit. Once Dr. A came in, she quickly sprung into action! We immediately discussed a care plan that we both agree upon. She made me feel heard and understood - bringing me to tears. While aspects of my appointment were helpful and it was impactful to receive a PCOS diagnosis I can now work from, I left feeling like my fibroid issues had not even been remotely addressed or heard. My most impactful symptoms were glossed over. I was also very uncomfortable to learn Dr. Aliabadi directly works with Ovii. She did not talk about any alternative inositol supplements, and pushed Ovii strongly. I am sensitive to curcumin, so had to stop taking it and started Ovasitol instead. Also, despite the fact I indicated I had experienced all the same symptoms when I had a healthy BMI, she focused almost exclusively on weight loss injections, even though I indicated weight loss was not the issue, but rather weight maintenance. I don’t deny weight loss is an important part of my health, but it felt quite dismissive of my body. I left and cried the rest of the afternoon. I also did a two week continuous glucose monitor and my sugars are just fine. It would’ve been nice to have some further tests before prescribing me multiple medications. I do not intend to return.

The doctor was a hour and a half late, briefly apologized. That wasn’t a great start, but I had been referred by friends so I gave the benefit of the doubt. Becasue she was so late the appointment felt rushed. I didn’t leave the appointment feeling good at all, and then after spending a fortune on the visit the doctor has STILL NOT CALLED me with any of my results, even though she said she would when we met. It has been SIX weeks. I feel like the practice just took $5,000 and bailed on me. I want to note that the staff was kind and warm, however, and shouldn’t be faulted for my bad experience with the doctor or the practice. I will not return, and will definitely not refer any friends or family. In the past, I’ve heard that Dr. A was very attentive and caring. I realize her career has grown quite a bit, but sadly, those trades seem to have been lost along the way. So disappointed, and left the experience feeling terrible.

I thought my OBGYN was amazing, but over the last couple of years, as uncomfortable symptoms started to arise, I noticed a lack of care, compassion and motivation to find out what the issue really is.
I deserve to get proper care when I need it and not be brushed off by doctors and told that this is just what women have to deal with because we've "always had to deal with it."
Dr. Aliabadi diagnosed me within about 15 minutes of being with her, conditions that I've probably had for years and suffered from uncomfortable, embarrassing, and at times, serious symptoms.
I left the office singing her praises to anyone that would listen. As I've dealt with symptoms the last few weeks, there has been comfort knowing I'm okay, and that if I need her I can call.
However, the hard truth is, I'm not wealthy. I'm not part of the 1%. I'm a full-time working parent, grinding it out in LA, and trying to get by. It was hard to get the diagnosis and know that I can't pay for the fix right now. I got to live the life of the 1% but was slammed back into reality afterward.

My time with the staff and doctor was wonderful. However, the timing of the appointment wasn’t explained to me prior or during the appointment. Between the time that I met with the NP/PA to go over history, and saw the doctor was over 75 minutes. I could hear the doctor in the room next door doing an ultrasound. I had an 8:30am appointment, and didn’t see the doctor until after 10:15am. It completely threw off the rest of the appointments I had for the rest of the day. I would have appreciated someone giving me a rundown on what to expect and to check on me while in the room waiting.

When you agree to see Dr. Aliabad, you know that this SHOULD be different than an “in network” office since everything is out of pocket. I actually saw nothing different, and in fact, felt the service lacked significantly when I was heavily bleeding one week after my appointment and it took three phone calls and three days to finally get a call back from the PA. However in that time I heard from her surgery coordinator AND an insurance coordinator on two separate phone calls because my insurance told them my policy terminated in April. After ensuring them it was not true, but to wait until April first to re-run the insurance since we had time. Imagine how angry I was that they wanted to make sure they could schedule the $24,000 surgery 1.5 months away, but couldn’t get a call back from a medical representative after leaving messages repeatedly.
Also, I paid for all the dementia and cancer screening; one result came back in one week and another came back within two weeks. I got no call from any office representative until three weeks after my blood draw. I felt like saying “yeah! Old news! I saw this weeks ago. Glad it was all good news and not negative.

My only comment is I wouldn’t leave someone sitting for an hour in a dressing gown. Dr. Aliabadi is in a class of her own. She does what very few Physicians do. She reviewed my blood work during my annual exam and was concerned that my cholesterol was too high. My primary physician would always tell me that it was fine so I never worried about it. Dr. Aliabadi highly recommended that I see a cardiologist for further testing. After a series of tests, I was told that I have calcium deposits in a very delicate area of my heart. 1) wish I was given physical scripts for all my diagnostics ( I had to request the front desk check out staff for them when I was checking out and they missed giving a physical script for the colonoscopy ).
2) The office wouldn’t accept the debit card that I’m authorized to legally possess as it was a company card that I’m the financial official off ( it felt a little humiliating as I have never experienced that anywhere else ).
3) Wish I was explained about the after care of endometrial biopsy as I felt bad when I had to disturb the doctor on a Friday to know if it was normal that I was still bleeding after 3 days of the procedure and I didn’t know if I could start my heavy lifting workouts right away or not.
4) I’m still in the process of receiving the results of my bloodwork so will wait for the doctor to discuss an abnormal value on a specific test that I got ( CEA ) is elevated.
5) Dr Aliabadi was so thorough and concise with my plan of treatment and I’m so thankful to her for that.

I had a great experience with Dr. Aliabadi and especially all staff. I had two unexpected new diagnoses and a surgery. Everyone did a fantastic job supporting me emotionally as well. I felt confident going into surgery and recovery was a breeze. There is just one bump in the road I experienced. The surgery center did a good job, except they had a student nurse do my IV setup. She ended up putting it a bit too deep and it was aching. I should have said something, but I just wanted to get through with the surgery, not have additional steps. I was also feeing uncomfortable to say something to the student nurse, she was so sweet and genuinely nervous but doing her best. When anesthesia was started, it really hurt, which I think also had a bit to do with the IV placement. I ended up having swelling and pain about 4 inches along the vain for the first week and just swelling and bruising the second week. I've been through many, many IV placements and this was the most uncomfortable. I should have said something to the nurse, I was just feeling anxious about her taking it out and having to try again. If there is a next time, I will ask for no student nurses for IV placement.

My actual appointment was good. However, my issue is that the rate increase information was not clearly relayed to me. Paying over $2K for a yearly physical is exorbitant. Since Dr. Aliabadi is an excellent doctor, I was willing to pay a little more to see her which at the time was over $300. Had I been aware that the appointment in the end would cost me $1,800 more than my previous visits, I would have opted out, especially since I have been unemployed for over a year. I asked the staff to help solve the issue, but none was given.
There should be a better way to treat patients when they need help.

The wait to see the doctor was very long and though she addressed what we needed, we felt the visit was rushed. A total of an hour and 45 mns for literally 10 mins max spent with her. When blood needed to be drawn, 2 things left us with a distaste. We mistakenly didn’t hear that we were supposed to step outside for lab-work. We ended-up waiting in the exam room until I stepped out 20 mns later and asked why the wait was so long. The nurse said “I told you to step outside”. This was our second time in this office and unfamiliar with the process of it all. A staff member should have come into the room and reminded us that we are to step outside for blood work and not just let us sit there confused. Then when blood was being drawn, I could visibly see that Sienna was struggling. I looked at the gauge of the needle, which to my surprise was very large. I asked where the butterfly needles were and she apprehensively replied “we do not have them today”. I was quite surprise given the caliber of this office being top notch. Sienna ended up with a deep and painful bruise. We know we’re in great hands with the doctor, but the treatment needs improvement overall.

I was impressed by how every aspect of the appointment was handled, from check-in, to the nurse taking my history, to the exam to the blood draw. My only reason for putting 9/10 instead of 10/10 is because I would love to go back to Dr. Aliabadi for my IUD insertion but her prices for it are just outrageous. I am not sure why getting an IUD is more expensive than a pap/ultrasound. I can kind of understand it being somewhat more expensive, maybe $500 more, but the quote I received for the entire procedure is $5,000+. That's how much I would pay to have a surgery. So that just made me sad. Otherwise, she is an amazingly talented and kind doctor.

This is my first review I have ever done! Ever since I have seen the doctor, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, all of the ongoing/persistent medical issues have been solved since. I felt extremely relieved. The last appointment was for a annual Pap smear and some other blood work. After getting my blood drawn I started feeling a little dizzy, sweating and stuffy ears and the most helpful person was Catherine (Coco). She came into the room and gently held my legs up so my blood would circulate to my head and I was amazed how quickly she solved the issue. She gave me a granola bar and some water which helped significantly as well. I felt extremely comfortable and was impressed because it’s not everyday someone would take the extra step to do that! She also has helped me in the past when I moved to a new state a few months back. I had an issue arise and she was extremely communicative and made the process easy! Overall, the doctor, all the staff members but especially Catherine and the doctor have made visits an easy breeze!

The weight loss pill recommended has headaches as a main side effect and since that is my biggest issue at this point I probably won’t take it.
Also it was a 45 minute wait to get in. Did not appreciate that.

I felt the bedside manor of Dr. Aliabadi was harsh, quick and scary. I have never been told or recommended I get a hysterectomy. It was a shocking and upsetting appointment; this was supposed to be my routine checkup. If my possible health situation was so dire or critical I would expect a more gentle approach. The doctor dropped the bomb on me quickly, then immediately left the room within a matter of a minute another woman came in and asked me to do a biopsy and it’s going to be an additional $1200. All very rushed very harsh and very unexpected. I left that office in tears.

In retrospect, I should have inquired beforehand about this, but wish someone had given me a head’s-up about the prospective charges for my visit, for planning purposes.
The doctor exhibited positive energy throughout our appointment, and appeared very knowledgeable and capable.
I did feel my appointment time with her was just a bit rushed, as I’m used to my gynecologist taking a little more time to get to know me and my history. (I don’t even recall her taking time to discuss results from my exam with me before exiting the room.)
Overall, I did feel I was in good hands with Dr. Aliabadi, and appreciated that she seemed to have an intuitive understanding of some of my issues; offered some treatment suggestions that I’ve not been presented with before; and did have a sense that she really is interested in promoting the health and improving the lives of her patients.

Overall, it was an excellent experience! The only feedback I would have is that the team was overly optimistic in their estimate of how long my initial visit would take. I assumed two hours and told the scheduler so. She insisted it would only be one hour - super efficient! I held two hours though, which was what the appointment took. I would not change a thing - I would just make sure no one else thinks the first visit could be completed that quickly or they would be disappointed.

After dealing with a frustrating set of obstacles related to fertility, Dr. Aliabadi saw my husband and I quickly, brought me in for surgery within a week, and was able to confirm my endometriosis diagnosis, resect it, remove my damaged tubes, and get me back on track for fertility treatment to hopefully get pregnant ASAP! 1) My Pap smear was on full view for the physician’s assistant. This made me a bit uncomfortable and would prefer only the doctor see below the belt.
2) I didn’t get an alternative to surgery. I would have wanted to know what the alternative option would be e.g. what outcome could I expect if we left the fibroids in and as is.
